Most of us probably think we know what hardiness zone we are in. It’s easy to find – dust off any one of your gardening books and the trusty USDA zone map will be in there. But there have been recent changes that could affect you.
For example, parts of Florida that were in zone 9, are now considered zone 10. The American Horticultural Society realeased an updated USDA zone map in 2003. In addition to zone changes, new zones were added. So, check the updated map to make sure you know your correct zone.
